Real Sapphire Keep Title Hopes Alive with Slim Victory at Valiant

Real Sapphire continued their march towards a maiden TCC League title with a narrow win over Valiant.

Without a win in their last three, and the chasing pack hot on their heels, the visitors came into the game under pressure. They however channeled all that pressure into the right energy as they dominated early proceedings.

Ismail Adam’s header in the 12th minute hit the woodwork as Coach Dan’s boys pressed for an early goal. Their continued search for the opener yielded fruit in the 30th minute as Akinfenwa Musa was felled in the 18-yard area. Junaid Ayomide stepped up and converted to put Real Sapphire in front.

That goal proved to be the difference between both sides as Real Sapphire shut out Valiant for their 12th clean sheet of the season.
