Champions Return to Winning Ways with Emphatic Win over Valiant

Beyond Limits bounced back to winning ways with a 4-1 triumph over Valiant. Coach Olumide’s boys made the most of their home advantage as they recorded their first win of the season.

Despite dominating the initial proceeds of the game, the hosts had to wait till the 42nd minute to open the scoring. Dadius Ogunniyi made a darting run down the right before sending the ball into Valiant’s 18-yard area. His cross found Promise Meliga who lashed the ball home from close range.

The champs took the lead into the break as Valiant struggled to get the better of the hosts.

The visitors however came into the second half the better side and got rewarded for their hard work with a penalty in the 49th minute. The spot kick was however saved by Favour Aputaziem, further boosting the morale of Coach Olumide’s boys.

Valiant would rue their missed chance as Beyond Limits doubled their lead thanks to a Kparobo Arierhi header in the 51st minute of the game.

15 minutes later, two became three with another header as Muhammed Abdullahi powered the ball home to extend the hosts’ lead. A hapless Valiant let in a fourth in the 72nd minute as they conceded a counter-attack. Second-half substitute, Chukwudi Isaac, beat the defense line and won the one-on-one contest with Samson Kolo to bag the fourth of the day.

Valiant pulled one back in the 85th minute but it wasn’t enough as they suffered their first loss of the campaign.
