No Lift-off for Gbagada Yet as They’re Submerged in the Atlantic Tides

Atlantic Business made two wins from two as they put three past Gbagada on MatchDay 2.

Coach Warri Charles’ lads let their goals do all the talking, breaking the deadlock in the third minute. Kilani Dimeji timed his run well to not only beat the Gbagada defense but also round Ebuka in goal before slotting the ball into an empty net.

The Blue Eagles, stunned by the early goal, needed to wait till the 36th minute to draw level. Paulinus Ayeobore was on hand to flick his header past Adeyi Sunday in goal as Coach Akinyelu’s men drew level.

Both sides held their own for the most part of the game, and the clash seemed destined for a draw. But the tale of the tape turned on its head as Atlantic scored in the 71st minute.

The hosts were awarded a penalty after Korede stopped a goal-bound effort using his hand. Shekinah Michael stepped up to the plate and sent the ball into the top left-hand corner of the net. The visitors conceded a third five minutes later: Kehinde Moses’ freekick sailed past everyone and into the back of the net.

Having scored three goals in back-to-back games, Coach Warri’s lads are truly standing on business. Can’t say the same for Coach Akinyelu’s side as the Eagles have now suffered back-to-back losses.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Dimeji Kilani (Atlantic Business)

The focal point of Atlantic’s attack, the striker led by example, keeping the Gbagada defense on their toes during the game.
