Valiant Stave off Iganmu Pressure to Secure Maximum Points

Valiant needed two late goals to take all three points in a seven-goal thriller against Iganmu.

The goals started pouring in as early as the fifth minute as Valiant’s Abdulraqeeb Abdullahi inadvertently put the ball in the back of his own net. The rest of the half was a quiet one as both sides saved their goals for the second half.

After the break, Muhammed Abdullahi got Valiant’s first goal in the 53rd minute. Two minutes later, Oyindamola Sanusi doubled Valiant’s goal tally to put the hosts in front. The quick goals was a testament of how potent Coach Mustapha’s half-time talk was.

But there was still time for more drama as Iganmu were not going to let their hosts off so easily. Ibrahim Ogede scored two in the space of four minutes as Valiant again found themselves behind by the 75th minute.

Living up to their name, Muhammed Abdullahi put in a valiant performance on his way to getting his second of the game, Valiant’s third, in the 86th minute. The visitors, still in shock from conceding a late goal, conceded a fourth just seconds after, as Maleek Sanusi scored the winning goal in the 87th minute.

The win pushes Valiant up the table as Iganmu’s struggles continue.
