Real Sapphire nick Point off Beyond Limits

The hosts held Beyond Limits to a draw in the rescheduled game.

Played after Coach Olumide’s men had been confirmed champions four times in a row, Real Sapphire wanted to prove a point: To be one of the few sides to not taste defeat against the reigning champions this season.

26 minutes into the game, they broke the deadlock. Thanks to some fine footwork, Darius Garmondeh danced his way into the 18-yard area before finding a team-mate who tapped in from close range. They would take the lead into the break, pushing back on every attacking move of the champions.

The second half started the same way the first ended: With Beyond Limits pushing for an equalizer and the hosts nullifying all their threats. Coach Olumide’s men needed to wait until the 90th minute before they got their well-deserved goal.

While they failed to get all three points, Real Sapphire reminded everyone of just how good they’ve been this season. The debutants definitely have a lot to look forward to in the coming seasons.
