Sporting Lagos closed the gap between themselves and a top four spot with a win over Gbagada.
They registered their intent as early as the fourth minute as goalkeeper Mubarak was forced into making an early save. They would however get their goal in the 6th minute and another in the 12th.
Their two-goal cushion set the tone for the rest of the game as the Blue Eagles struggled to keep up. Coach Akinyelu’s men would pull one back just before the half-time whistle. But they needed two penalties to do that – Alfred missed the first before converting the second one given.
The half ended with a Sporting Lagos player given his marching orders just after the whistle had gone. Despite playing the second half with 10 men, Sporting Lagos held their own against a formidable opponent, finishing the day with all three points in their kitty.
