Imperial Sneak Past Escola to Keep Eyes on the Prize

Imperial needed a hard-fought win to keep up the pace with the log leaders.

Both sides started the contest evenly matched, with the chances limited. The closest Imperial came to their first in the first 20 minutes of the game came via a free-kick on the edge of the area. They however flunked the chance.

Despite being the away side, Imperial increased their dominance in the game. And they got their due reward two minutes from half-time. Samuel Abisuga took off on a solo run, evading three players in a counter-attacking move, before slotting the ball past Chima in goal.

Escola’s second-half performance was a mirror-image of the first: Lethargy in front of goal. Both sides would fail to score in the latter half as Imperial moved to within three points of Beyond Limits.
