Atlantic Business Lose Steam in VOE Defeat

VOE made it three wins on the bounce with a famous 2-1 victory against Atlantic Business.

The hosts began the game the livelier side, forcing Solomon to make saves as early as the fourth minute of the game. The contest became an end-to-end contest six minutes later, as Atlantic Business’ Donald forced VOE defenders into making a block.

Solomon’s antics between the sticks kept the visitors in the game in the first half, as he was called into action time and again, denying each VOE attempt.

For all of their attempts, it was the visitors who broke the deadlock five minutes after the break. Donald Godwin powered home the ball from close range after a cross from the left, putting the visitors ahead.

The lead, however, lasted only 11 minutes, as VOE responded with the equalizer. Abdulraheem Kehinde’s smart run beat the offside trap before racing towards goal and firing past Solomon to draw the hosts level. In the 70th minute, VOE struck again, with the goal this time the winner. Opatokun sealed the win in style, breaking Atlantic Business’ hearts as VOE continued their fine form.
