Sporting Lagos Held to Third Consecutive Draw by Valiant

Sporting Lagos’ poor run of form continued as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Valiant.

Sporting started the game the better side, putting pressure on their visitors. But there was little to show for all their efforts until the 42nd minute.

John Lucky, upon receiving a long pass, muscled off two defenders before slotting home from a tight angle. With his goal, Coach Caleb’s side went into the break in front.

For a side that spent the first half on the back foot, Valiant started the second half aggressively. All that hard work was going to waste until Abdulrahman Dauda scored in the 86th minute. Gaffar Ahmed’s shot was parried into the path of the winger whose simple tap in dragged the visitors level.

While it’s a third consecutive draw for Sporting, it’s equally a second consecutive draw for Valiant.
