Dino picked up another away win as they silenced Sporting Lagos’ home fans.
The hosts started the game in fine fashion, seeking to draw first blood. In their search for a goal, they were however caught off-guard and conceded the game’s first goal.
Ende Stephen connected perfectly with a cross from a set-piece situation. His header from close range evaded the goalie and put the visitors in front.
Unfazed, the hosts continued to push for a goal of their own. And a few minutes later, they found a breakthrough. A defense-splitting pass found Opeyemi Yusuf . The winger wiggled his way past opposition bodies before just squeezing the ball into the back of the net.
The first could have produced more goals. The goalies were however up to the task as they kept the tie level.
The second 45 was a mirror-image of the first. The defenders were more involved as each team kept the other at bay. Just after the half-hour mark, Dino found the breakthrough.
A poor clearance by Hammed Gaffar sent the ball to Ikechukwu Friday. The striker wasted no time in lobbing the ball over the goalkeeper who was already in No Man’s Land. The goal would serve as the difference maker as Sporting Lagos’ winning run came to an end.
