Valiant FC 2 - 2 Imperial FC

21st May, 2024

Valiant and Imperial Share Spoils

Imperial’s poor away form continued as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Valiant.

It was the hosts who started the game in fine fashion, pressing and quizzing the Imperial defense. They would find their breakthrough just after the half-hour mark as Maleek Sanusi, who has been in fine scoring form, rattled the net again.

But that lead didn’t last long as Favour Igwe drew the visitors level. The defender was on hand to take advantage of a set-piece situation and get a rare goal to his name.

Both teams balanced their play from the first going into the second half of the game. They looked Inseparable for the most part of the game until Kayode Adebayo, another defender, put the visitors in front.

But the hosts were defiant in their response, refusing to back down. And they were duly rewarded for their efforts as another Sanusi, this time Oyindamola, scored Valiant’s second, to snatch a point.

That late goal meant Coach Owolabi’s men are now unbeaten at home in their last two games – timely for the business end of the season.
