Sporting Lagos take Escola to the Cleaners, Record Consecutive Wins

Sporting Lagos continued their impressive run with a 4-0 triumph over Escola.

The party hosts however didn’t get the goal-scoring spree started on time. What started as a keenly-contested clash didn’t see its first goal until the 44th minute of the game, when Okoro Odinaka made the most of a marauding foray forward to put his side ahead.

Up until then, the visitors had held their own, managing situations and trying to control the game. But whatever control they had on the game was lost in the second half as they could not keep up with the hosts.

First-half substitute, John Lucky, got in on the action in the 60th minute, doubling the lead for Coach Shola’s side. 17 minutes from time, it was second time lucky for John as he got on the scoresheet again.

Overwhelmed, the visitors would concede a fourth, making it their third-largest loss of their maiden campaign in the league.

MAN OF THE MATCH

John Lucky (Sporting Lagos)

His two goals in the space of an hour put his side on a pedestal too high for Escola to keep up with. An impressive display that fans won’t forget in a hurry.
