Dannaz recorded their fifth loss in a row as they succumbed to a 4-1 VOE thrashing.
The hosts, without a win since the 9th of November, came into the game desperate for a win. All of that hunger however was not enough as they conceded a penalty in the 14th minute. Muhammed Sodiq stepped up and converted to put the visitors ahead.
There would be no more goals until the 86th minute, after which four goals were scored.
VOE got their second in the 86th as Daniel’s feint took him past two defenders before blasting the ball past Abdulazeez in goal. The hosts responded almost immediately. Second-half substitute, Akhigbe Monike rose highest to nod the ball past an on-rushing Akolade, halving the deficit in the 87th minute.
Any hopes of a comeback were however crushed three minutes later. Second-half substitute, Edeh Obinna restored VOE’s two-goal cushion in the 90th minute before another substitute Lawal Waris scored VOE’s fourth in the second minute of stoppage time.
A crushing defeat for Fatain Bashiru who must now be wondering how long the wait for their next win will last for.
