After a winless start to the season Iganmu picked up their first win of the campaign, a 5-2 thrashing of Atlantic Business.
In front of their home fans, they scored their first in the 21st minute after a back pass fell to Ibrahim Ogede. With only the keeper to beat, the striker slotted the ball beneath his opponent’s arm to get the goal party underway.
In the 41st minute, the Atlantic Business defense was caught napping again, faced with another counter-attacking move. It was again finished by Ogede as Coach Warri’s side looked disjointed.
They however bounced back six minutes into the second half, halving their deficit. Shekinah Micheal, a second-half substitute, danced his way past two defenders before firing into the bottom right of Sunday Elijah’s goal.
The hosts responded in kind two minutes after, with Babatunde Bright’s left-footed shot sneaking its way past Omah Ebube for Iganmu’s third. It was the first time Coach Alade Kabiru’s men scored three times in a TCC League game this campaign.
Three however was not enough for them.
Seconds after their third, Bamidele Adeleke finished off a counter-attacking move, slotting home Iganmu’s fourth into an empty net. In the 77th minute, Sunday could do nothing about Kehinde Moses’ wicked shot from 25 yards out as Atlantic Business got their second.
But it would be Iganmu to have the last say in the game as Ibrahim completed his hat-trick and a memorable win for Iganmu.
