Dino’s Second Half Revival Sends Them up to Third

Dino rallied from behind to score the odd goal and take all three points against Gbagada.

Despite being the visitors, Coach Godwin’s men started the game in fine fashion, threatening to score early in the game. Chidubem Diji and Stephen Ende were however wasteful up front, failing to convert.

Gbagada, on the back-foot for large periods of the game, burst to life in the 41st minute as Semiu Fagbayi broke the deadlock. David Ede in goal stood no chance as the winger’s rocket of a shot from 25 yards found the bottom left corner of the goal.

Dino began the second half the same way they played the first: Failing to convert their chances. After Coach Godwin rang a few personnel changes, the visitors got their goal in the 67th minute through Ogonna Okoro who had earlier missed a penalty.

With Dino on the ascendancy, they took the lead five minutes later. After a failed ball clearance, the ball fell kindly to Ogonna. He doubled his tally with a fine effort, curling the ball past Mubarak Lawal.

The action continued end-to-end as both sides chased the game. First, Rilwan Gbadamosi converted from the spot in the 81st minute. Determined to win the game, Ogonna again took matters into his hands and bagged his hat trick to earn Dino the much-deserved win.
