Dino stuck in third, held to a draw by Iganmu

Iganmu grabbed their second point of the campaign after holding third-place Dino to a draw.

The visitors started the game in fine form, with Nwachukwu Christian forcing Sunday Elijah into making a fine save in the early minutes of the game. Diji Chidubem got a chance to put his side in the lead. He however sent his one-on-one opportunity wide of Sunday’s goal. The tale of missed chances continued as Bamidele Adeleke’s shot went over the bar.

Dino started the second half as they did the first, with right-back Nwachukwu Christian hitting the woodwork from a set-piece. They would however go on to break the deadlock when Kola Mohammed failed to clear his lines. Amos Mata gained possession of the ball and fired home from close range to give Dino a deserved lead.

Minutes later, one could have become two for Dino. But Sunday Elijah was having none of it as he made himself big to thwart Amos’ chance.

The Dino defense was caught napping deep into the second half and conceded from Iganum’s half chance. Habeeb Martins timed his run perfectly to beat the Dino defense. He went on to loop the ball over Godwin in goal, drawing his team level.

A few missed chances later, the referee called time on the game, leaving Dino wondering what could have been

With no less than five saves made, Sunday’s heroics in this fixture earned his side the much-needed point.
