Iganmu’s wait for a second win of the season continued as they were held to a 3-3 draw by VOE.
Coach Kabiru’s lads drew first blood in the 23rd minute as Kola Muhammed broke the deadlock. VE, still finding their feet, conceded a second in the 36th minute, Damilare Richard doubled the hosts’ lead. The hosts would bag a third just before halftime with Ashade Lawrence heaped pressure on the visitors.
It wasn’t all doom and gloom for VOE in the half as Agbonjimi Timilehin pulled one back just before the half-time whistle. Fuelled by that late goal, Coach Balogun’s boys began the second half the better side, pressing for a second goal.
That wait lasted 28 minutes into the half, with Abdulraheem Taiwo halving Iganmu’s lead. The hosts, under pressure, fought hard to maintain their lead till the end. But Agbonjimi had other ideas. The winger’s 90th minute goal broke the hearts of home fans as VOE stole a point from under the Tiger’s nose.
For VOE, it’s not a bad way to start the season. For Iganmu, that wait continues.
