Atlantic Business got off to a winning start as they kept Valiant at bay to secure maximum points.
The visitors got their first goal in the 2nd minute after an unmarked Gbolahan Onabajo nicked in the ball from inside the six-yard box. They went on to double their lead in the 21st minute as Shekina Micheal’s sumptuous freekick found the top corner of Samson Kolo’s goal.
Valiant’s first goal didn’t come until the 32nd minute. A defensive mix-up saw Owen Kaor get into a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper. A cool finish by the striker pulled one back for the hosts.
The goal energized Coach Owolabi’s men as they pushed for an equalizer. They however had to wait until the second half before the goal came, through a penalty converted by Gafar Olaniyan.
Atlantic Business would go on to douse the Valiant enthusiasm five minutes later as they regained the lead in the 71sh minute. A cross from the left found Tobi in the box. And the second-half substitute powered home a header from close range to restore Atlantic’s lead.
They would go on to keep the hosts at bay till full-time, registering a precious away win.
