Dino’s Opening Day Win Features Goal-scoring Spree

The landlords of the Lions Den kicked off their TCC League season with a massive win over Atlantic Business.

Coach Godwin’s men couldn’t have asked for a better start as Hyacinth Ogonna opened the scoring with a thunderbolt from over 25 yards out after Atlantic Business conceded a free-kick. For the visitors, conceding in the seventh minute of the game left them chasing the game.

They however failed to trouble the hosts, who dominated the game. Dino doubled their lead in the 17th minute, capitalizing on an Atlantic Business defensive error. Hassan Agbede was in the right place at the right time to cash in on the melee and rattle the onion bag.

By the 29th minute mark, Dino had gotten their third goal, compounding woes. Atlantic Business were clearly struggling defensively and Chidubem Diji, clearly sensing the opportunity, pounced on a rebound after Ebube Onah’s initial save.

The referee called time on the half, with Dino’s supremacy in the game clearly obvious. However, Coach Godwin’s men were not done scoring. Four minutes into the second half, Hyacinth Ogonna got his brace as Dino went four up in the clash.

As good as they were, Dino could not end the game with a clean sheet as Atlantic Business got one for themselves. Peter Mona was on hand to convert from the spot as the visitors got their goal in the 77th minute.

Theirs was the last goal of the game as Dino began their campaign with a resounding win, laying down the gauntlet for others to pick up.
