18 Months Later, Iganmu Notch First TCC League Win
Iganmu defeated Dannaz 4-2 to open their 2026/2027 campaign with a win and record a first TCC League victory in 18 months.
After enduring a 25/26 season without a win, the Tigers wasted no time showing their hand as they broke the deadlock in the 8th minute. Ebube Daniel was on hand to convert a set-piece and put the visitors in front. But Dannaz, not willing to allow Iganmu out of sight, drew level 15 minutes later through Abdullahi Usman.
Just before half-time, Kareem Robiu finished off a quick attacking play to restore Iganmu’s lead going into the break.
The 2nd half began with both sides scoring in the first five minutes of the half. Sunday restored parity for Dannaz in the 47th minute before Kareem Robiu bagged a brace. There’d be no coming back for Dannaz from here on as Iganmu added a fourth to register a comprehensive victory.
It’s the first time, in their seven TCC League seasons, that Iganmu have opened their league campaign with a win. Is this win the first of many to come this season?
