Beyond Limits Begin Title Defense with Emphatic Victory
Beyond Limits got their title defense campaign off to a flying start with a 4-0 win against Valiant.
The reigning champions began their onslaught on the visitors’ goal in the 10th minute, forcing Nurudeen Musilu into making a save. But Valiant could only hold on for so long as the hosts found the breakthrough five minutes from the half-time break. Ogboji Izuchukwu broke the deadlock with a towering header, converting from a corner kick.
There’d be no such waiting in the 2nd half half however, as Beyond Limits pummeled their visitors. Abiodun Oladosu extended the lead in the 55th minute after converting from the spot before Taiwo Abiodun made it three in the 67th minute. 10 minutes from time, it was Daniel Akinfenwa’s turn to put Valiant to the sword by slamming in the fourth goal at the far post.
The win sends a strong message from the reigning champions to the rest of the league: If you want this crown, you’ll have to fight hard for it.
