Beyond Limits Make Light Work of Iganmu as They Begin League Campaign

Beyond Limits got off to a winning start in the season opener as they put two goals past Iganmu.

The reigning champions didn’t take long to get into gear as their first big chance came in the 11th minute. Farouq Ogundare, one-on-one with the goalkeeper, chose to lob the man in goal. His effort was however cleared off the line as Iganmu kept the game goalless.

But there was nothing the visitors could do in the 18th minute as Beyond Limits converted from the spot. Captain Oluwaseyi Ogunniyi put the ball past the goalie after Isaac Ckukwudi was brought down in the box.

An eventless 25 minutes later, Iganmu registered their presence, forcing Favour Aputaziem into action. The goalie’s double save ensured the hosts went into the break with a slender win.

The tale of the tape stayed the same in the second half as Coach Olumide’s boys dominated possession. They would get the result for all their hard work in the 60th minute as they doubled their lead.

Daniel Arierhi, on the receiving end of a pass from Isaac Chukwudi, side-footed the ball past Mufutau in goal to put the hosts in a comfortable lead.

The visitors, for all of their attempts, failed to trouble Beyond Limits who saw out the game with a clean sheet.

A statement win for the hosts but is it deja vu for Iganmu United?
