Gbagada's Road to the TCC CUP Final

Gbagada's Road to the TCC Cup Final

In a competition that has been a spectacle, at this ultimate point in the Creative Championship League Cup, the final where everything would be chosen, awaits us.

The Eagle doesn’t begin flying upon entering the world, it takes a cycle before that is accomplished. Gbagada have proven themselves to be worthy finalists with their unbeaten run so far.

In the two-legged series at the quarter-final stage, the Blue Eagles beat stubborn Imperial 1-0 in Ikenne before a 1-1 draw in the second installment of the tie in Lagos eventually sent them through.

Off they went into the semi-final to face Valiant FC – who had escaped a fightback from Ignamu to progress 5-3 on aggregate. A side that has top marksman Lukman Ibrahim and the dribbling king Akinsola Babatunde in the waiting but Akinyelu Olajide’s men did not shiver and just like Eagles, they soared over the Brave boys whose bravery was not enough over the two legs.

Captain fantastic Semiu Fagbayi has been leading the Lagos side in the TCC League cup this term, helped by supporting casts like midfield maestro Omolaja Gbenga, Eya Solomon and gaolie Olotu Alaba.

Meanwhile, Gbagada FC have a standing record of scoring in all of their four cup games this season, and with the final prize there for the taking on Sunday, the Eagles could soar once again.
