After keeping Valiant at bay, Remo U19 failed to increase their lead over the chasing pack. For the first time in seven Creative Championship games, Coach Olumide’s boys failed to score a goal.

It was also the first time a game featuring the Ogun Boys failed to produce a goal. Still on top of the table, Remo U19 must now pick themselves up and get one over their next opponent, Ijebu United.

Ijebu United, after recording their third win of the season, are in high spirits going into this game. With two of their players making the GameWeek 7 Team of the Week, they’re well placed to take points of Remo Stars yet again.

And Three became Four, Imperial host Gbagada in the fourth and final part of a month long series in the League after evening out the wins column and sharing the spoils across the previous three meetings.

The Blue Eagles return with a wind in their sails having gained a semifinal place in the Cup at their rival’s expense. Imperial may be the league’s worst side, but they got their first win against Gbagada, and have looked better in every fixture since even if it has not yielded the results desired.

Whatever lessons learned across these meetings could be important in the homestretch for both teams as they aim to reach different targets. Gbagada remain favorites in any tie involving both sides, and are fifth in the league. They could jump into the top half with a result here.

Imperial could move off the foot of the table should they get the desired result of three points. Having done so before, don’t rule them out. After all, they’ve scored thrice against these opponents, conceding the same number. They have ammased 75% of their tally against Gbagada alone.

FORM

Imperial: DLWLD

Gbagada: WDLWD

STAT ATTACK

This is the most played fixture in the TCC League/Cup 20. It has yielded the fewest goals per game of any match played more than twice in the tournament.

PLAYER TO WATCH

Owopetu (Gbagada)

The centre back is a vital part of a defensive partnership that puts things on the line. Alongside Biliameen, they were immovable as Imperial sought a second that would have sent them through in the Cup second leg.
