El Grand Clasico. The Blue Eagles against the Sky Blue Stars. The pace setters. The pioneer champions of TCC tournaments. The classic fixture returns in different circumstances this time. Both sides are trending in different directions on the league standings, and it is only Matchday 6. 

The Sky Blue Stars and 3-peat champions Beyond Limit are finally beginning to find their voice after a tepid start, while Gbagada are like two feet in quicksand, seemingly sinking and seeking answers. 

Their rivalry is born of mutual respect, and contrasting styles. Gbagada, the win-at-all-costs and passion artists, while Beyond Limits pride themselves on style and grace. Gbagada, are now seemingly trending towards style, perhaps picking off Beyond Limits, but results are seemingly not yet forthcoming. 

Gbagada have not beaten Beyond Limits since January 30, 2022. That’s a long time in football. In three subsequent league meetings, they have scored one and conceded seven, with the one goal a mere consolation. Four points separate both sides, and a win will propel Gbagada to within a point of their rivals. Surely there isn’t a bigger motivation?
