Sporting Lagos Academy will look to bounce back from their 3-1 loss to Real Sapphire when they host the defending TCC League champions, Beyond Limits. It was a stark contrast from the week 1 performance from Coach Shola Adegun’s boys. It is a litmus test, especially as the Sky Blue Stars are fresh off a 4-1 schooling of TCC Cup champions, Valiant.
This is exactly a year to their first meeting, when Sporting Lagos went to Ikenne and took a point from their illustrious rivals. The tide has since turned, with Sporting failing to win any of their next two fixtures (one league, one cup) against Coach Ajibola’s boys.
Beyond Limits played like a freight train against Valiant, scoring two headed goals from crosses into the box. Their bench depth is also a huge factor that Sporting may have to watch out for. Not so many teams have the luxury of calling on a striker like Kparhobo Ariehi from the bench.
STAT ATTACK
3- The number of goals Sporting Lagos have scored against Beyond Limits. An average of one per game. However they have also conceded 5, with 4 coming in their last two fixtures.
MAN TO WATCH
Farouq Ogundare (Beyond Limits)
He was at the heart of everything the Sky Blue Stars did against Valiant. He sees the field and has a unique vision that creates opportunities for his side out wide.
