PREVIEW: MD1 – Real Sapphire v Broad City

Real Sapphire v Broad City

Sunday, 6th September, 2026

Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu Ode

2pm

For a second season in a row, Real Sapphire face Broad City in the first match of a Championship season.

The last time both sides faced off on Opening Day, the spoils were shared in a goalless draw. Both sides will be hoping to do one better and take maximum points in this clash.

With two draws from their last three MatchDay 1 games, the hosts have a huge task on their hands. And what’s more: They face a Broad City side that has never started a Championship season with a loss. Clearly the underdogs coming into the game, can the hosts pull off a surprise result at the end of the day?
