Remo replaced Valiant at the top of TCC League with a 3-1 win against the incumbents. An early table topping bumper fest, Both sides were looking to pick up where they left off before the festivities and it was Remo who seized the day from the go.
Coach Ajibola’s boys had showed the beauty of soccer before the hiatus, and they took their performances to another level with a first half that can easily be tagged the best in the competition so far. It took only 22minutes for Remo to take the lead, with Akinsamiro heading home from a fine corner, that had come following good play down the right for the visitors.
It would prove to be the ideal platform, as Remo pinned Valiant back and double their advantage 10minutes later via Moshood with Akinsamiro turning provider. The icing on the cake would come just before half time with Dada cushioning home a fine strike after a good pass from Adio on the 40th minute mark. It was a fitting tribute to an 18-minute spell where the visitors were unplayable.
Valiant would arrive the second half in dire straits, and Lukman Ibrahim would add to his tally to reduce the deficit. Coach Achieve Yunus’ boys would find it difficult breaking the resolve of their guests, with Remo’s counter attacking impetus enough reason for Valiant to not go all out. Remo have now won 5games in a row, with Valiant the last team to record a number in the loss column.
