REPORT: MD7 – Iganmu 1 – 2 Valiant

Valiant Supplant Iganmu with Only Win of MatchDay 7

Valiant defeated Iganmu 2-1 to register the only win on MatchDay 7 in The Creative Championship.

The Brave Boys got off to a fine start, opening their account in the second minute of play. Ayomide Akinsola’s curler from long range, which wasn’t well dealt with by the goalkeeper, found a way into the net to set the visitors on their way. Five minutes later, they made it two, with Abuchi Okoro finishing things off from close range this time around, to heap pressure on their hosts early in the game.

Not to be left behind, Iganmu pulled one back through Omiwale Shakirudeen before the end of the first quarter of the game. The Tiger displayed game awareness to beat his marker to the ball before slotting home from close range.

The hosts continued to push for an equalizer in their resolve to get something from the game. But their profligacy upfront, combined with a resolute Valiant defense, made that impossible as they slumped to their fourth defeat of the season.
