REPORT: MD7 – Atlantic Business 3 – 3 Real Sapphire

Tarpeh Crashes Atlantic Business Party with Late Equalizer

For the first time this season, Atlantic Business scored three goals in a championship game. But it was not enough to secure victory as they conceded three times against Real Sapphire to settle for a draw.

The Business Team couldn’t have asked for a better start as they broke the deadlock in the 13th minute. Aboubakar Tchadenou was in the right place at the right time to tap home from close range after the goalkeeper fumbled the ball. 10 minutes later, it was Onyegbulam’s turn to make it two. Again, the visitors had their defense taken apart by two precise passes, before Chinonse increased Atlantic Business’ lead.

The visitors were determined to half the deficit before half-time. And Lateef Abdulazeez pulled one back from the spot two minutes from time. A reinvigorated Real Sapphire came into the 2nd half pummelling the hosts’ defense from all angles. And they’d get rewarded for their effort in the 66th minute as Xavier Tarpeh’s header bubbles beneath the goalkeeper and into the net.

But the drama was far from over.

Odulaja Kolawole thought he had scored the winner when he finished off a fine team move. But the visitors had other ideas, which Tarpeh executed in the fourth minute of stoppage time, scoring to draw his side level. The goal proved to be a dagger in the hearts of the hosts as they dropped points yet again.
