Two-goal Lead Slip Costs Broad City First Win of the Season

Broad City’s wait for a first win of the season continues after throwing away a two-goal lead against Dannaz.

Coach Kazeem’s side had the best start to a championship game this season, breaking the deadlock in the 12th minute. The Dannaz defense, caught napping, left Uche Ezugwu space to operate in. The striker danced past his marker before firing home from close range for the opener.

Just before the half-hour mark, the visitors struck again. Dannaz’s defense failed to deal with a 2-on-3 situation. A few dribbles and a rebound later, Chidubem netted Broad City’s second. Just before half-time, however, the hosts pulled one back, thanks to an own goal.

Their second would come from the spot in the 57th minute. But that was after a lengthy DAR which led to Dannaz being awarded a penalty. Abdulrahman Adesokan stepped up and sent the ball beyond the goalkeeper and into the net. The scoreline would stay the same as both sides failed to get a third goal.
