REPORT: MD6 – Imperial 2 – 0 Beyond Limits

Imperial Trump Beyond Limits in Top-of-the-Table Clash

An early goal was enough to put Imperial on the road to victory in the 2-0 triumph over Beyond Limits.

The log leaders couldn’t have asked for a better start as they went ahead in the 5th minute. A lapse in concentration at the back led to an own goal by Abdullahi, putting the visitors on the backburner minutes into the game. They spent the rest of the half chasing the game. 35 minutes later, they were almost caught out as Imperial threatened to make it two. Goalkeeper Abdulhaqq was however up to the task, keeping his side in the game.

But 10 minutes into the 2nd half, there was little he could do about Imperial’s second. This time, there’d be no own-goal. Instead, Adnan Usman found space away from his marker before firing a low shot into the bottom right corner of the net. His goal was good enough to seal the victory for the hosts as they became the first team to shut out the reigning champions this season.

The unbeaten log leaders, with this victory, have now laid down a marker for the rest of the championship. They’re now the team to beat.
