REPORT: MD4 – Beyond Limits FA 3 – 0 Atlantic Business
Beyond Limits Take Care of Business, Overpower Unstable Atlantic
Beyond Limits moved up to the top of the log with a 3-0 victory over Atlantic Business.
The reigning champions enforced their dominance early, breaking the deadlock in the 6th minute. Mark Akpabio put his side in front after converting a cross from the left with a towering header.
The frenetic start to the game continued at the other end, as the visitors threatened to equalize. They were however profligate in front of goal, wasting a handful of golden chances to restore parity. Beyond Limits smelled blood, took the initiative, and extended their lead. In the 35th minute of play, Peter Oyeniran danced past his marker before poking the ball beneath the goalie’s arms for the second goal of the day.
Four minutes later, Yahaya was again called upon as the hosts converged on his goal again, threatening to score again. This time, the goalkeeper was up to the task, making the save that kept his side in the game.
In the 67th minute, Atlantic Business came close to pulling one back. A gilt-edged scoring opportunity was however met with a matching save, as the goalkeeper punched the ball away for a corner. Nine minutes later, it was Yahaya’s turn to make another save, this time a save from a point-blank header. There was however little he could do to stop Atlantic Business from conceding a third, as Taiwo Olarinsoye finished off the visitors.
A statement win for the reigning champions in a clash of last season’s winners. Plenty to think about for Atlantic Business as they’re now eighth on the log.
