Imperial Maintain 100% Start to Season with Come-back Victory

Imperial came back from a two-goal deficit to defeat Dannaz 4-2 and secure a third consecutive victory of the season.

Dannaz, through Adesokan Abdulrahmon, got their noses in front after 10 minutes. Adesokan was in the right place at the right time to finish off a rebound after a well-worked attacking play by the hosts. 10 minutes later, the Cedars took advantage of a napping Imperial defense and doubled their lead.

On the half-hour mark, Imperial pulled one back through Adnan Usman’s well-weighted header which sent the ball beyond the goalkeeper. Coach Freeman’s boys continued to chase the equalizer. And they would find it in the 54th minute, this time from the penalty spot, with David Aremo sending the goalkeeper in the wrong direction.

A completely dominant Imperial side picked the Dannaz defense apart for a third in the 72nd minute, a goal finished off by David Aremo for his brace. Eight minutes from time, they picked up a fourth in style, with the Dannaz defense in all shades of disarray.

It’s an impressive start to the season for Imperial as they maintain their top-of-the-log stay. However, for Dannaz, the result kicks off an unsettling trend. For a second time this season, they’ve failed to win a game in which they scored twice. For Coach Fatai, there’s plenty of work still to be done.
