Sporting Lagos Secure First Win of the Season

Sporting Lagos registered their first win of the championship season with a 1-0 victory over Valiant.

Despite being the visitors, Sporting Lagos began the contest as the livelier side, with Fortune Danison drawing a good save from the Valiant goalkeeper, Nurudeen Musliu in the 5th minute. Minutes later, Fortune was again in the mix as he was felled in the box, winning a penalty for the visitors. Abubakar Orire stepped up and converted to put his side ahead.

Sporting Lagos, two minutes from time, were only a few inches from doubling their lead. Egbedokun however saw his attempt cleared off the line after being through on goal.

The story followed the same trajectory in the 2nd half as the Brave Boys had no answer for all of Sporting Lagos’ dominance. The quiet half played out without another goal as Sporting Lagos successfully defended their lead. 

The win gets Sporting Lagos’ season underway while the search for a first victory of the season continues for Valiant.
