Gbagada Takes Care of Business in First Home Game of the Season

Gbagada picked up their first win of the season in a 3-2 triumph over VOE FA. 

The Blue Eagles wasted no time taking flight as they opened their account in the 6th minute. Itunu Olushola connected nicely with a cross from Femi to tuck the ball into the back of the net. 14 minutes later, Itunu was again in the mix as Gbagada extended their lead. The goal-scorer turned provider this time, assisting Habeeb, whose header doubled Gbagada’s lead.

Coach Akinyelu’s men continued their dominance well into the 2nd half, bagging a third in the 63rd minute. Femi Ogunniran picked up a second assist with another cross which Habeeb poached in for his second.

In the 73rd minute VOE FA pulled one back. Shogbaike Oluwasegun’s free-kick technique was flawless as his curled shot sent the ball above the wall and into the net to pull one back for the visitors. Adejumo added one more for VOE in the second minute of stoppage time but it wasn’t enough as Gbagada held on for their first win of the season.
