Late Goal Secures Maximum Points for Imperial
Just like they did two years ago, Imperial kicked off their TCC League season with a victory over VOE FA.
The contest began as a lively affair, with both sides testing the opposing goalkeeper in the first 10 minutes of play. Hosts, VOE FA, were especially guilty of not converting their early chances as the first half closed out with both sides failing to find the back of the net.
In the 2nd half, Imperial gradually found their feet as they looked for ways back into the game. While their hosts were being profligate upfront, they broke the deadlock in the 78th minute. An unmarked Ayemidotun Salaudeen connected well with a cross from David Ajibade, firing home from close range.
The visitors, led by Franklin Freeman, saw out the rest of the game, securing a second consecutive Opening Day win against VOE FA in three seasons.
