Imperial proved too much for Iganmu to handle as they put three past their hosts to make it two wins out of two.
A contest known for being a goal fest did not disappoint as Imperial opened the scoring in the 17th minute. Musa Maleek got himself on the scoresheet, putting Iganmu under pressure. The Tigers, looking to avoid defeat, restarted the game with a desire to get something from the clash.
They would get their reward in the 27th minute as their center-back, Onwuegboukwu Emmanuel, made the most of his opportunity and leveled the game.
That lead however only lasted 60 seconds as Eric Ologe took advantage of a slumbering Iganmu side to restore Imperial’s lead. Do you know what they say about being at your most vulnerable just after you score a goal?
The remainder of the game saw both sides failing to convert their chances as Imperial maintained their lead going into the break.
For all the intensity Coach Ebenezer’s side started the second half with, Iganmu failed to break down an impressive Imperial side. Both sides played cat and mouse for the most part of the game, with the hosts seeking an equalizer and the hosts holding tight to their lead.
The visitors changed gears in the final quarter of the game and got a third goal to seal the win. Another center-back, Olatunji Maleek, was this time, the goal scorer, as Imperial heaped more woes on an Iganmu side that has now conceded six goals in their opening two games of the league campaign.
