Dino and Gbagada shared the spoils despite both sides scoring twice.
The hosts registered the first attempt on goal with a freekick which stung Babalola’s palms. They in fact dominated the opening proceedings of the game, forcing Babalola into making save after save.
Despite their dominance, it was the Blue Eagles who took the lead, taking advantage of Dino’s failure to clear their lines and a miscommunication between goalkeeper and defender. Regardless of the error, they kept pushing for their own goal. However, Babalola remained sturdy in goal, keeping Coach Gibson’s men at bay.
For all their efforts, Dino entered the second half the better side, but conceded a second goal just two minutes after kickoff. Gbagadamosi’s cross from the right flank weaved its way, deceptively, past everyone, and into the back of the net.
Regardless, Dino remained unfazed and got rewarded for their hard work in the 68th minute. After a neat cut-back into the 18-yard area, Coach Gibson’s boys worked enough space to make the most of the chance and get their first goal.
Nine minutes from time, they got their equalizer as Chidubem Diji was on hand to poke the ball home after beating Gbagada’s offside trap. Despite salvaging a point, Coach Gibson leaves this game rueing the many chances that were missed.
