TCCCUP25/26 REVIEW QUARTER FINALS

5th February, 2026

TCC Cup: Dino, Imperial, Gbagada, ABFC reach last four

The quarter-final of the 2025/2026 TCC Cup added a different twist to the tale of the tape this season with few goals and surprise results.

Real Sapphire, despite finishing top of their group, failed to sail past Gbagada, losing 2-0 to the Blue Eagles. The contest got off to a slow start, with Itunu Olushola breaking the deadlock from the spot in the 73rd minute before Femi Ogunniran sealed the win four minutes from time with a superb lob.

In the 2nd QF game, Imperial survived a Sporting Lagos FA onslaught to book their semi-final spot. The visitors went behind in the 56th minute courtesy of an Oluebube goal. With seconds left in the game, Linus Victor restores parity with a sublime free-kick, forcing the game into penalties, which Imperial won 4-5.

VOE FA‘s 2-1 defeat to Atlantic Business featured more goals than any other game in the round. The Business Team’s dramatic win began with having a player sent off in the 15th minute, before Chinonso broke the deadlock eight minutes later. Shekinah Michael’s 64th-minute strike doubled that lead before Garma Matthew scored an 81st-minute consolation goal.

Dino SC saved the best for last, knocking Beyond Limits out in the final quarter-final game. Coach Godwin’s team got off to a fine start, breaking the deadlock in the 20th minute. They doubled their lead from a corner kick five minutes before half-time, heaping pressure on the holders. It would be a deficit too big to recover from as the visitors bowed out of the competition.

In the semifinal pairings, Gbagada will play host to Atlantic Business in Lagos, while Imperial and Dino SC will slug it out in Odogbolu, Ogun State, for a place in this year’s final.
