18 goals were scored in MatchDay 4 in the TCC Cup as five teams picked up maximum points in the quest to progress to the next round of the competition.
In Group B, it was a round of ‘firsts’ as both winning and losing streaks were brought to an end. Gbagada made the most of an impressive 2nd half to register a first victory of the 2025/2026 campaign, defeating Iganmu 4-0. It was also the first time the Blue Eagles scored four goals in the competition this season, with Itunu Olushola scoring two of those goals.
For the first time this season, Beyond Limits failed to score, suffering defeat at the hands of Sporting Lagos by a 2-0 margin.
After letting in two 1st half goals – the second of which was a well-worked team move, finished off by Alimi Farouk with a well-placed shot – Coach Olumide’s side fought hard to force a comeback in the 2nd half. But a resolute Ahmed Gaffar in goal refused to be beaten, making save after save, including denying the hosts a goal from the spot. His antics earned Sporting Lagos their first win of the campaign, boosting their quest to make a late push for qualification.
In the group’s other game, six goals were scored as Atlantic Business handed Dannaz their first defeat in a 4-2 thriller.
In Group A, VOE FA continued their unbeaten start to the competition, defeating Broad City 2-1 to register a 2nd victory of the campaign. The win sees them move into the top spot as Real Sapphire dropped points after their draw against Imperial – their third in the TCC Cup this season. Valiant’s first goal of the campaign was not enough as they fell to defeat against Dino SC, a result which leaves them rooted to the bottom of the log.
