Atlantic’s Big Win and Dino’s Late Winner Headline MatchDay 2 Action

Three teams recorded victories as the second round of TCC Cup games were played across various match venues.

In Group B, Beyond Limits made it two wins in two, handing Dannaz their first loss of the competition. The victory comes a few days after The Cedars lost to the reigning champions in the league. Coach Olumide’s side scored the only goal of the game, Akinocho Mervielle finding the back of the net in the 18th minute.

Atlantic Business were the biggest winners of the group, thrashing Iganmu 5-0. The hosts bossed the Tigers from the first minute, breaking the deadlock just after 5 minutes on the clock, thanks to Donald Godwin’s header. He doubled his tally in the 23rd minute with another header before bagging his third, for a hat-trick of goals, in the 55th minute.

In Group B, Broad City extended Valiant’s wait for a first TCC Cup win as both sides played out a goalless draw. Real Sapphire made it two draws in a row after coming back from a goal down against VOE FA.

Dino secured their first TCC Cup win of the season with a 2-1 triumph over Imperial.

The fixture seemed destined to end in a draw after Samuel Obudu (65’) cancelled out Abdulwaheed Faruq’s 41st minute opener. But Samuel Obudu rewrote the script with a 92nd minute goal, tucking home from close range after a cross from Daniel Effiong.
