Final Four Tickets Up for Grabs as TCC Quarter-finals Begin

The second-half of the journey to the 2024/2025 TCC Cup final begins this week. Eight teams will be in action with a semi-final ticket at stake for the victors.

On Wednesday, the action kicks off at the Remo Stars Stadium as Beyond Limits take on Atlantic Business. It’s the first meeting between both sides in the knockout phase of the competition. However, both sides have clashed twice in the group stage, with both meetings ending without a winner. Which side will come out on top this time around?

In Wednesday’s other game, the Lagos derby will be in full display as Gbagada take on Sporting Lagos. With each side failing to score in just two of its group stage games, fireworks are expected in this clash. Then there’s also the little matter of Sporting Lagos seeking revenge for their 1-0 TCC Cup loss to the same opponent last year.

On Thursday, Real Sapphire’s resolve to keep a fifth clean sheet will be tested when they face Imperial. Last year, it was a free-scoring Real Sapphire in the competition. This year, they’ve conceded just once. Can that defense power them to victory over a side that has scored an average of two goals per game?

VOE and Dino will square-off in Thursday’s second game. Both sides managed just two wins in the group stage, securing qualification with 7 points from a possible 15.  It’s VOE’s first berth in the knockout phase of the competition. And the newcomers will be gunning to upset a regular like Dino.
