League business takes the backseat this week as the 2024/2025 edition of The Creative Championship Cup gets underway.

Last season’s finalists, Beyond Limits and Sporting Lagos, will attempt another journey to the final starting with home games against Valiant and Iganmu respectively. Buoyed by their home crowd, both sides will be hoping to get the ball rolling with a win.

Only one team can win the cup competition. And both Gbagada and Real Sapphire will be hoping to be the team that hoists the trophy in the air next year. Both sides came agonizingly close to cup glory last season but were knocked out in the semi-finals via penalties. But can last season’s pain spur them on to MatchDay 1 wins this week?

The Creative Championship Cup has a new entrant this year, VOE FA. Just like Real Sapphire last year, the new kids on the block will be hoping to go as far as possible. But only one thing matters this week: Can they start with a win against a regular like Gbagada?
