TCC Season Review 2024/25 – Beyond Limits

5th May, 2025

Bragging rights don’t come bigger than that which Beyond Limits started the 2024/2025 season with.  The Remo-based side, led by Coach Olumide, began their fifth TCC campaign as the defending champions of both the league and cup titles.

The only side to have won the league title since its inception, they were odds-on favorites to do it again. And so this made them a force to be feared, a machine to be revered. However, it also made them a target, the team to beat, for those who dared to dream.

First Half of the Season

Nine goals in their first three games put them two points clear at the top after MatchDay 3. But a first home defeat – to Sporting Lagos – was quickly followed by a draw against Real Sapphire. By the start of MatchDay 6, Beyond Limits had slipped to third.

Coach Olumide’s men bounced back in style, winning their next two games without conceding.  They returned to the summit of the table briefly, but slipped down yet again after back-to-back losses in which they fired blanks. They finished off the first half of the season with two comprehensive 3-0 victories. But it was only good enough to finish the year in second place.

In their quest for TCC Cup glory, however, they had no such troubles. 13 days to the end of the year, Beyond Limits secured qualification for the knockout phase without losing a game.

Second Half of the Season

Beyond Limits began the second half of their campaign with three wins on the bounce. Still stuck in second, however, they were hot on the heels of the log leaders, Real Sapphire. By MatchDay 16, their pursuit of the top spot suffered a major blow as they lost to Dino and drew against Valiant.

Despite scoring 16 goals in their last four games, Beyond Limit’s late charge to wrestle the top spot out of Real Sapphire’s hands proved futile. They fell short by just a point, surrendering their title after finishing second with 48 points.

Coach Olumide’s boys cushioned their league disappointment with a smooth TCC Cup run. They scored 10 goals in three knockout games, keeping two clean sheets in the run. Their 3-0 triumph (over Dino) in the final capped off a season of mixed feelings.
