Imperial bounced back to winning ways with a win over Atlantic Business in Matchweek 10.
This reverse fixture of Matchweek 9, which ended in a goalless draw, saw both sides come to life, banging in the goals and fighting for the precious three points.
With their last win coming in their Matchweek 3 triumph over Dannaz, Coach Olayinka’s side went on the offense in the early stages of the game, and they were duly rewarded for it. In the 23rd minute, the home side found the back of the net as Sulaimon Onafowokan was on hand to give Atlantic the lead.
Atlantic’s lead did not however last long as Ezeno Chidera pulled one back for Imperial. It was the eighth goal for the captain who has been in fantastic form this season.
With both sides inseparable, the first half ended without a winner.
The second half began with both sides going for the jugular, trying to find the winner. Despite featuring end-to-end action, both sides failed to take their chances. With the game headed for a draw, Bilyaminu Abdullahi proved, again, that he could be counted upon, as he fired one past Jimoh Godwin to hand Imperial the win.
For Imperial, it’s yet another away win. For Atlantic, they now remain without a win in seven TCC League games and just four goals in their last five.
