Atlantic Buries Broad City’s Unbeaten Run with Impressive Win

For only a second time this season, Broad City conceded three goals, bringing their unbeaten start to the season to an end.

An in-form Bakare Ayomide broke the deadlock in the 19th minute, his low shot sneaking past from outside the 18-yard area finding the bottom left-corner of Opeyemi’s goal. But Atlantic, not willing to let the hosts get in rhythm, equalized just two minutes later.

Chinedu Umeh tapped home from close range after Ibrahim’s failed save rebounded onto his path.

There’d be no more goals until the second half, where Broad City, again, scored first.

Terhide Moses, receiving the ball from the right, controlled the ball in the 18-yard area before looping his shot over the goalkeeper to put the visitors in front. By the 75th minute, it was Atlantic Business’ turn to equalize again. This time, second-half substitute, Chinonso Onyegbulam, was the player whose goal drew them level.

The game seemed destined for a draw until the 87th minute. The hosts, in a counter-attacking move, found plenty of enemy territory to run into without opposition.

Shekina Micheal, another substitute, who started the run from his own half, would go on to score the winning goal as Atlantic Business recorded their third win in a row.
