Real Sapphire Return to Winning Ways Against Valiant

Amole Bidemi’s 66th-minute goal was enough to settle the tie in Real Sapphire’s favor as the reigning champions got back to winning ways.

The hosts came into the game eager for a win after losing three on the bounce. They were however matched by an opponent desperate to keep Real Sapphire behind them on the log. Thus, all attempts to break the deadlock failed… until just before half-time.

A quick passage of play saw the ball land at the feet of Owenka Promise, who fired a low shot home to put the hosts in front.

Coach Imenger’s half-time talk seemed to fire up the visitors as they began the 2nd half as the better team. 19 minutes into the half, Ibukun Olawumi’s low header poked the ball into the bottom corner, drawing a vibrant Valiant level.

But it was not enough as they fell short to a team now working its way to the top of the table.
