Broad City Zoom into Top Spot in Style, Maintain Unbeaten Start

Broad City moved into top spot in style, putting four past Gbagada in a resounding win.

The visitors entered the clash with just one win from their last four away games. Up against a host on a five-game winning run, they seemed to be the underdogs of the day.

A goal in the 7th minute however, quickly knocked off such tags, setting the tone for the result of the day. Bakare Ayomide’s attempt from the left was parried by the goalkeeper but into the path of an onrushing Sanusi Hanif. The winger tapped home from close range to put the visitors in front.

11 minutes later, Bakare got himself on the scoresheet, guiding the ball past Lukman Babalola with a deft touch. The winger scored again in the 33rd minute, completing Broad City’s first-half demolition of Gbagada.

The second half started quieter than the first did, with the first goal coming in the 59th minute.

Gbagada finally found the back of the net thanks to Temitope Akinbami’s header from a corner-kick. But Broad City would go on to have the final say as Jeremiah Christopher’s 84th minute goal put the result beyond any doubt.

The result earns Broad City their biggest victory on the road since MatchDay 2 while it’s Gbagada’s heaviest home defeat this season.
