Real Sapphire continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 3-0 triumph over Imperial.
The visitors wasted no time in revealing their intentions as they broke the deadlock in the 13th minute. An onrushing Adam Ismail tapped home from close range after a low cross from the left flank.
The visitors doubled their lead in the 17th minute as Joshua Ibrahim got in on the scoring party. Unmarked, the youngster received a pass from Bawa in the six-yard area. He side-footed his shot past the goalie to heap pressure on the hosts.
Real Sapphire’s first half goal-scoring blitz continued with another goal – this time in the 19th minute, this time scored by Junaid Ayomide.
Those three goals would go on to set the pace of the game as Imperial failed to recover from the early deficit. Real Sapphire are now not only one of two teams yet to taste defeat this season. This win came with their fifth clean sheet of the season, the most any side has managed so far this season.
